Kevin McGrath is Of Counsel at Brake Hughes Bellermann LLP. Mr. McGrath’s practice focuses on the representation of high-technology clients in connection with strategic patent counseling, prosecution, opinions, and litigation support.

Prior to joining BHB, Mr. McGrath served as IP counsel for an early-stage electric aircraft company where he managed a patent portfolio including electric drive systems, battery systems, and flight control systems technology.

Previously, Mr. McGrath was in private practice in roles as a Director and Associate at law firms in Burlington, Vermont and Boston, Massachusetts serving clients in matters of patent prosecution, counseling, licensing, and litigation. Representative technology areas include turbomachinery, batteries, semiconductor manufacturing, sporting goods, optical systems, displays, utility grid flexibility, and blockchain software.

Prior to becoming a lawyer Mr. McGrath was an engineer at Lockheed Martin where he worked on the design of nuclear propulsion systems for US Navy Submarines. Technology areas included thermal hydraulics, energy systems, nuclear fuel systems, and electric motors.
