Brett Guenther is patent agent of Brake Hughes Bellermann LLP. Brett’s practice focuses on drafting and prosecuting domestic and foreign patent applications covering a wide range of technology related to electrical engineering, embedded systems, electro-mechanical devices, computer science, optics, and imaging. Brett has managed patent portfolios for corporations and universities developing software and systems for security, network devices and protocols, control systems, signal processing, artificial intelligence systems, logistics, inventory control, workflow, and customer engagement. Brett has protected intellectual property for devices and circuits in the networking, power supply, automotive, embedded computing, and medical device industries.

Prior to joining Brake Hughes Bellermann LLP, Brett practiced as a Patent Agent for the law firm of Meunier Carlin & Curfman LLC in Atlanta, GA and for the law firm of Additon, Higgins, and Pendleton, PA in Charlotte, NC. In these roles, Brett worked with clients and patent attorneys in preparing invention disclosures, prosecuting foreign and domestic patent applications, and providing technical support for opinion work and litigation.

Prior to becoming a Patent Agent, Brett worked as an engineer for more than 15 years. Brett has worked in production, design/development, research, and engineering management for companies ranging from large defense contractors to small startups. Brett has practical expertise in the design and development of microwave/RF devices, antennas, medical imaging systems, sensors, and optical spectrometers, and Brett’s academic experience included extensive studies in nonlinear optical materials, electromagnetics, and signal processing.
