Marie Smyth is a Patent Agent of Brake Hughes Bellermann LLP. Ms. Smyth’s practice focuses on the drafting and prosecuting of patent applications. Her expertise is in the areas of computer software and hardware, communication systems, business systems, graphical user interfaces, semiconductor devices, image processing and compression, cryptography, digital and analog circuits, networks, optical recording devices, electronic handheld devices, microprocessors and microcontrollers, and other hardware and software systems and products.
Prior to joining Brake Hughes Bellermann LLP, Ms. Smyth spent seven years as a Technology Specialist, Patent Agent at the law firm of Fish & Richardson, P.C. Ms. Smyth’s experience previous to becoming a patent agent was as a Senior Principal Engineer for Polaroid Corporation where her responsibilities included both hardware and software designs for Polaroid’s digital scanners, printers, and cameras and as a Principal Engineer for Polaroid Corporation where her responsibilities included hardware/software design and integration for Polaroid’s electronic identification systems.
