Tawnya Ferbiak Somauroo  is an associate at Brake Hughes Bellermann. Ms. Somauroo’s practice focuses on the preparation, filing, and prosecution of international and domestic patents in the mechanical, electrical, and software arts. Tawnya has experience prosecuting patents in the following technology areas: software, remote sensing/weather instruments, flow meters, valves, aerospace, and display technologies.

Prior to joining Brake Hughes Bellermann LLP, Ms. Somauroo worked at firms in Colorado and London, UK.
Before her legal career, Ms. Somauroo worked for eight years as an aerospace engineer at the University of Colorado at the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP). During her time at LASP, Tawnya designed and wrote software to operate space-based remote sensing instruments and worked integration and test for space shuttle, low earth orbiting, and interplanetary missions.
